The main object is the description of the overall Oxy-Fuel combustion system, which is determined by the interaction of complex and coupled subprocesses.

Research in this area is concentrated on two key aspects:  Firstly, various submodels provided by project area B have to be integrated into a complete model. The different geometric scales present in firing capacities have to be covered by the methodology as well as the transient character of the system itself.

Secondly, emphasis is put on radiative heat transfer - one of the dominating mechanisms in Oxy-Fuel combustion. Therefore, Oxy-Fuel related aspects are addressed in the investigation and development of radiation models.
