Apl. Professorship for Dr. Martin Schiemann

Dr. Martin Schiemann, principal investigator of projects B7 and C5 within Oxyflame, has been honored with the title of apl. Professor.

Dr. Schiemann studied physics at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and earned his Dr.-Ing. degree in 2012 with a thesis on the spray roasting of iron chloride solutions. His habilitation followed in 2018 with a thesis on optical thermography for engineering applications.

He also serves as a principal investigator in the SFB/TRR 297 BULK-Reaction, focusing on chemical reactions in dense particulate media. Additionally, his research interests extend to metal fuels, a key area of his scientific work.

The CRC congratulates Dr. Schiemann on this great achievement, highlighting his exceptional contributions to Oxyflame and his broader scientific impact.

Best Student Paper Award for David Tarlinski

The CRC/TRR 129 is proud to announce that David Tarlinski, a dedicated PhD student from the Institute of Energy Plant Technology and member of the projects A2 and B7, has been awarded the Best Student Paper Award of the 48th International Technical Conference on Clean Energy . This accolade recognizes outstanding academic research and contributions to the field of Clean Energy.

This conference has earned a reputation for excellence as one of the premier conferences on energy technologies as it has grown in size and scope since its inception in 1975. The conference offers approximately 180 technical presentations in four days. With over 200 participants from 5 continents, the conference has a truly international presence.

The work of the award-winning paper, titled "Optical Measurements of Pulverized Pine Needles Burning in a Drop Tube Furnace," was investigated as part of a research stay at Northeastern University in Boston with the research group of Prof. Levendis.
